  • What is SymPedia and how does it work?

    SymPedia is a mobile application that allows users to explore real-world reports related to drugs, vaccines, and other products that affect your health. Users can view data from official sources like the FDA and CDC, as well as anonymous reports submitted by other users. Our goal is to make health decisions easier by putting safety data in your hands.

  • Is my personal health data stored or shared?

    No. Your personal health data is stored only on your device and is encrypted for your privacy. SymPedia never shares or uploads any identifiable information. Any submitted reports contain no PHI (Protected Health Information).  Every effort is made to protect your identity.

     

  • What is the difference between the free and My SymPedia versions?

    The Free version allows full access to search, view reports, and submit anonymous data. The MySymPedia version adds features like saving your medications to MedCabinet, monitor medcation shortages and recalls through MedTracker, and more.  Premium is available for $29.99/year.

  • Where does SymPedia get its data?

    SymPedia collects data from trusted public sources such as the FDA, CDC, and NIH. 

  • Can I report a bad experience with a drug or product?

    Yes. SymPedia allows users to submit anonymous adverse event reports. These reports help others make safer health decisions and contribute to the community’s awareness.

  • Is SymPedia available in other countries?

    Yes. SymPedia is available for download worldwide and can be used by anyone with access to the app store. While most data comes from U.S. sources, we are expanding our support for international data where available.

  • How much does SymPedia cost?

    SymPedia offers a free version with access to search, view reports, and submit anonymous events. My SymPedia is available for $29.99 per year and includes advanced features.

  • What features are included in the My Sympedia version?

    Premium users can save medications to MedCabinet, receive real-time alerts for shortages and recalls with MedTracker. More features are coming soon.

  • Can I try My SymPedia before purchasing?

    At this time, we do not offer a free trial. However, you can use the free version to explore core features and decide if premium is right for you.

  • How do I upgrade to a My Sympedia account?

    You can upgrade directly through the app by going to the Account Settings page and selecting Upgrade to My Sympedia.

  • Will I be charged automatically every year?

    Yes, the premium subscription is billed annually and renews automatically unless canceled. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your device’s app store settings.

  • What happens if I cancel my subscription?

    You’ll retain My SymPedia access until the end of your billing cycle. After that, your account will revert to the free version, and any saved data will remain securely on your device.
